We specialize in manufacturing facial masks and our most frequent asked question is :
"If I want to have my own brand of mask, what is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) and what is the cost per piece"
Well, it depends on three issues. (thank god, only three!)
Let me break down the cost of mask manufacturing for you.
Facial mask is one of the easiest cosmetic products to manufacture, it is consisted of only three main components: sachet, cloth and serum.
What we do in our factory is folding the dry cloth into an empty sachet, then inject the serum inside the sachet and seal it off.
Since the facial mask is consisted of sachet, cloth and serum, then the cost is dependent on these three major components you choose.
In this article, I am only going to discuss the issue about sachet, let's leave the cloth and serum for next time.
Say for the following example, you have decided to choose our most basic non-woven cloth and basic moisturizing serum. (these two components are set and fixed to isolate the sachet component, so it's easier for me to explain the sachet issue)
Basically, you have only 2 options for sachet printing: single color or full color.
If you are new to cosmetic/beauty business and don't have any loyal customer base to start with, then we will suggest you to choose single color printing sachet.
The beauty of choosing single color sachet is that the MOQ is only 3000 pieces, and the cost for printing 3000 pieces is around USD300.
Say you are a little conservative for the first order and decide to go for the basic non-woven cloth, which costs about USD0.1per piece. (3000pieces x USD0.1/piece = total USD300 for the dry cloth)
Then, let's say you choose the basic moisturizing serum, each sachet fills app.30ml of serum, for 3000 pieces we will charge you USD500 for the serum.
Then there is also the labor cost of folding the cloth, filling of the serum, sealing of the sachet, packaging and rest of the manufacturing job, the labor cost for 3000 pieces is only USD200, slave labor indeed.(but isn't it the main reason you choose us instead of making it in your country?!)
total cost=single color sachet($300)+dry cloth($300)+serum($500)+labor cost($200)=USD1300
Thus the total cost for 3000 pieces comes to USD$1300. (complete products ready for sale)
The above mentioned total cost does not include the shipping cost. For example, the shipping cost of 3000 pieces by sea from Kaohsiung port to Vancouver (including all the required documents) is about USD170.
Therefore you only need to invest the total sum of USD1500 and you can have your own line of facial mask (1 type, 3000 pieces, which works out to be USD0.5 per piece).
Here I must emphasize the fact that the 3000 MOQ is so low, is because we choose the option of single color printing sachet, here are some more examples of single color sachet (of course you can choose the color you want, but it must the same color throughout the sachet for all the 3000 pieces)
As you can see, even with the limitation of using only single color, the sachet design can still look good (that is if you have professional designers like ours!)
We do not set the bar for MOQ, it is the printing house that has the MOQ requirement, the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) is mainly dependent on the options that you give to the printing house. Although we have a strong design team, unfortunately (or fortunately?) we do not own a printing factory, so we outsource our printing jobs to several high quality printing houses in Taiwan and the price is much lower than anywhere else in the world (here we are comparing only high quality printing jobs).

Now comes option 2, full color printing sachet design
Say if you are an experienced distributor and you already have many loyal customers to your own brand, so you have a strong confidence that you can easily sell thousands of facial masks. And most importantly, you don't want your sachet design limited to just one boring color.
Well here is the price you have to pay upfront(to the printing house,not us), USD4800 for approximately 100,000 pieces of empty color-printed sachet
Here is the deal, you have to pay the full amount of USD4800 for 100,000 pieces of sachet upfront, even though you may only need us to product only a small portion of it initially. Therefore we will save the rest of the empty sachet in our warehouse for future use.
